Who We Are
Sgiob Ruadh Farm, the home of Isle of Mull Cheese is a family run dairy farm situated on the Isle of Mull on the West Coast of Scotland.
Our Isle of Mull Cheese is a traditional Farmhouse cheese which we began making 30 years ago. In more recent years we now also make our Hebridean Blue cheese which is a semi-soft blue. All the milk used to make our cheese comes from our own herd of dairy cows.
We believe milk deserves to be treated kindly and by having control over the whole process we are able to ensure it is given the respect it deserves. We do not pasteurise our milk as we believe this to be an unnecessarily harsh way of treating milk. This way, we leave the organisms which have the potential to create the individualism and maturity of flavour of our cheese.
