About the Glass Barn

The Glass Barn is our farm shop and cafe.  Here we sell our home produce including, of course, our cheese, Island pork from our farm pigs, home made jams and preserves, Island Bakery bicsuits, as well as a small selection of other items.

Our beautiful Glass Barn is the recycled village hall from nearby Salen, which was taken down to make way for the new road, and recycled here at Sgriob-ruadh Farm.  We added the wooden frames and planted the vine 26 years ago, many other plants followed!  It has always been a family space for us, operating as a cafe on and off for many years.  Now we open more regularly in the summer months when the island is busier with tourists and enjoy being able to share the beauty of the Glass Barn with others.

We plan to resume tours this summer, however, it is likely these won't be until later in the season.  Apologies for any inconvenience.

You can still however visit The Glass Barn which is located on our farm, and browse our farm gardens surrounding the Barn.

We bake all our own cakes in the Glass Barn, these change regularly but include:

Brownie, Chocolate Guiness cake, Carrot cake, flapjacks, pastries, choconut slice, lemon and coconut slice, etc.

We also bake all of our own sourdough bread fresh daily, and have a few loaves each day available for sale.

We are working hard to produce quality coffee and are working with local roasters, Hinba Coffee, from the Isle of Seil, to do this.
